Assessment:
Three types of evaluation:
- Continuous assessment: 40% of the final mark
Throughout the year, you will work on group or individual projects, which will be marked by your teachers. - End-of-semester exams: 60% of the final mark
These take the form of written exams. - Grand Oral and end-of-studies dissertation:
The oral exam is a presentation of your educational path and skills acquired as well as your future studies or professional project. Concurrently, you will also have to write a dissertation based on a company case study.
Types of lessons:
The hybridisation of the pedagogical model, which has been underway for several years, aims to increase your agility and adaptability. Your experiences
Climacité© project (2 months)
An environmentally-focussed voluntary project to help the planet and other living beings. This project, carried out in Year 1, is an integral part of the DNA of the Bachelor in Business and reflects the main Green and Blue ‘commitment and responsibility’ focus that students experience throughout the three years of the programme.
Work-study: 12 to 24 months
You have the possibility of a Work-study Track in Year 2 on the Orleans campus and in Year 3 on all three Excelia campuses. This track will enable you to develop your professional skills in a real company and give you the opportunity of applying your theoretical knowledge in management.
Business Game / Blue Environment Workshop / Water Fresk
Carried out as a company games or a board games, students work in teams to tackle and solve real-life business issues relating to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Expatriation at a partner university (1 semester)
You have the opportunity of academic expatriation in Year 2 of the programme for students based in La Rochelle, Tours or Orleans.

Humacité© Project: 2 months
In Year 2 of the programme, you can undertake a social, humanitarian or civic voluntary project in an NGO or an association, which is carried out abroad. This is one of the unique features of Excelia, which is committed to educating students to become future managers who are both responsible and conscious of the importance of their role in society.
Internships: 12 months of experience
Carrying out company-based internships, in France or abroad, is one of the compulsory parts of the Bachelor programme. By the end of your studies, you will have acquired some 12 months of real company-based experience.
Student Clubs and Associations
Get involved and develop your soft skills and business competencies! Throughout Year 1 of the programme, you will carry out an association-based project, and in Year 2 you have the opportunity to choose the Association Management Track, participating in the running of one of Excelia’s 44 clubs and associations. In addition, it is a great way to settle into school life and experience something unique.
Disney College Programme: 6 months
The School has a partnership with Disney World Resort in Orlando, giving students the opportunity to spend one semester studying in the USA at Delaware University (AACSB accredited), followed by a 6-month paid internship in one of the parks of the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
Consultancy Project
In Year 3, you will take on the role of business consultant. Linked to the theme of water management, in teams you will tackle a real-life issue raised by a local company committed to the ecological and social transition. Final work is assessed by different examination panels which select the 3 finalist teams, and then determine an overall winning team.
Personalised Support and Guidance from a Mentor/Coach
Throughout your studies, you will benefit from personalised support and guidance. You will develop an ePortfolio, detailing your experiences and acquired skills, a veritable digital identity to optimise your future employment prospects.

What is "Work-study"?
Our programmes offered on a work-study track are subject to specific admissions requirements and conditions. To maximise your chances of being accepted on a work-study track, here is some useful information and helpful advice:
- Personal interview: Candidates are strongly advised to submit a CV and a cover letter. How you perform on the day of the interview and the quality of these documents, even if optional, are all part of the assessment.
- Grant holders: as part of its commitment to social inclusion, when it comes to work-study, Excelia gives preferential consideration to applicants with grants.
For a period of one year, the Work-study Track offers you the possibility of alternating School-based periods, during which you will learn the theory, with company-based periods, where you will work on projects relating to your studies.
Vocationally-oriented, this Work-study Track is available in Year 3, to students choosing the following specialisations: Digital Marketing & Customer Relationship Management, Sports Management and Events, International Business, Banking & Insurance, Purchasing & Supply Chain Management, Sales Management.
Work-study in detail
- Contract type: contrat de professionnalisation (Professional training contract), contrat d'apprentissage (apprenticeship contract) or a convention de stage alterné (work-study internship agreement)
- 2nd year format: 2 weeks school-based followed by 2 weeks company-based
- 3rd year format: 1 week school-based followed by 3 weeks company-based
- Main objective: To combine theoretical knowledge with professional experience
- Securing a contract with a company: Excelia has its very own Apprenticeship Training Centre (known in French as CFA) and provides you with the necessary search tools to assist you in your professional project.
