The Disney International Program offers an outstanding opportunity for students to combine their studies with work experience at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. This unique programme enables students to study at a university in Delaware whilst undertaking a paid internship at one of the world’s most famous theme parks. 6 months of pure adventure in 2 locations


Your 6-month adventure is divided between two complementary worlds: the leafy campus of Delaware State University and the hustle and bustle of the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. 

When you arrive in the United States, you will be plunged into authentic American student life, with high-tech classrooms and a dynamic international community. Then, you will enter the magical universe of Disney by joining the teams at the world’s largest entertainment complex.

Between breathtaking shows and meeting visitors from all over the world, each day will bring its own share of excitement !

  • Delaware State University (DSU)

During 2 weeks, you will study, in English, at this AACSB-accredited American university, taking the following courses :

  • Entrepreneurship
  • International Management
    At the end of this period, you will receive an official transcript of your marks.

 

  • Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando (Florida) 

You will then undertake a 5-6 month paid internship at one of the world’s most famous theme parks. You will experience two different roles, with varied and challenging tasks, such as : 

  • Food & Beverage
    -    Quick Service 
    -    Seater (welcoming guests in restaurants)
  •  Operations 
    -    Attractions
    -    Guest Relations
    -    Ticketing
  • Merchandise (Retail & Sales)

In addition, you will follow 2 online courses delivered by Harvard University, advancing at your own pace.

What is the Disney International Program ?

The Disney International Program is a unique professional experience at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, available to students from all over the world. It offers the opportunity to work in Disney parks and resorts and to develop skills in customer service, hospitality, and management. Participants must be over 18 years of age. This opportunity combines practical training, cultural exchange, and immersion in the world of Disney in the United States.

How much do you get paid on the Disney International Program ?

The salary on the Disney International Program is based on an hourly rate in line with the Florida minimum wage, i.e. around $2200 per month, for a 35-hour working week. In addition, there are other benefits such as discounts on Disney products and free access to the parks. Accommodation is available, with rent deducted directly from your weekly pay.

Is it difficult to get onto the Disney International Program ?

The recruitment process involves several highly competitive stages : a detailed online application, an in-depth interview, and an assessment of English language skills.

Does Disney recruit international staff ?

Walt Disney World actively recruits talent from around the world through its career mobility programmes. Opportunities are available in a variety of fields, including entertainment, project management, and customer service. Applicants must be fluent in English and have an appropriate visa. 
Delaware State University sponsors visas enabling students to take part in this experience.

Is this experience academically recognised ?

The Disney International Program enables you to validate one semester (academic credits can vary as some programmes also require an internship report). This unique opportunity combines courses at an American university and online courses with practical work experience at the Walt Disney World Resort.
