    Biography

    Tamym Abdessemed is a Professor of Corporate Strategy and Director and Dean of Excelia Business School since 2022. He graduated from HEC Paris (class of 1994) and listed on the President's List, he holds a Master's degree (formerly DEA) in Management and Strategy from the University of Paris-X Nanterre and a specialization certificate from the HEC doctoral programme. Tamym Abdessemed earned his HEC Doctorate in Management Science (specializing in corporate strategy) in 1999. He also holds a Qualification to Supervise Doctoral Research in Management Science from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, obtained in 2015 at the IAE of Paris.

    He has pursued a career as a professor of strategy while also engaging in management activities at training institutions, notably as Director General of ISIT, Deputy Director General of ISC Paris, Academic and Research Director of ICN Business School, Director General of ESCEM, Director of the doctoral program at HEC Paris, Director of Studies at HEC School, Deputy Director of INT Management or Director of the MBA program at Audencia Nantes.

    He has taught at French and international institutions (Paris-Dauphine University, Szchola Glowna Handlowa in Warsaw, Almaty School of Management in Kazakhstan, Centre for Foreign Trade Studies, Higher School of Business in Algiers, ECUST in China, etc.) in strategy, change management, and leadership. Since 2017, he has coordinated the professional development programme for academic leaders at the FNEGE (National Foundation for Management Education) and has contributed to the FNEGE research barometer since its inception.

    He also served as Chair of the Communications Committee of the Conference of Grandes Écoles (CGE) from 2019 to 2022 and as Commissioner for the Conference of Grandes Écoles' 50th Anniversary (2022-2023), after having chaired the research working group of the Chapter of Management Schools from 2012 to 2015.

    His areas of expertise include technological competition, inter-firm cooperation, banking strategies, and the transformation of the management education sector, areas where he published many scientific and professional articles, opinion pieces as well as business cases.
