    THE BACHELOR IN BUSINESS IS A GUARANTEE OF HIGH-QUALIFTY EDUCATION AND A WEALTH OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES.

    It is a 3-year programme in general business management and administration, open to students who have successfully graduated from High School or international equivalent, or who have already completed 1 or 2 years of post-High School education. Admissions is via a selective entrance test. The programme prepares students for a range of different careers in e-commerce, marketing, communication, purchasing, finance, human resources and business management alike, enabling them to work in companies in France and abroad. It combines high-level education with a diversity of experiences, and acts as a springboard for further studies (Master in Management or Masters of Science) or, thanks to the various internships and the possibility of a work-study track, students may opt to go straight into the job market (100% employment rate).

    The Bachelor in Business programme offers you, the student, the possibility of personalising your studies to reflect your professional project and future goals.

     

    Year 1

    In Year 1, the focus is on acquiring management fundamentals (sales techniques, accounting, introduction to marketing, consumer behaviour, economics, oral communication, general knowledge, languages etc.). Within the supportive framework of a major business school, you will progress on both an academic and personal level.

    You will enjoy 4 key experiences:

    • A voluntary, sporting or civic project in an association of your choice
    • A sales project: applying sales and negotiation techniques within a company
    • Humacité©: carrying out a social or humanitarian voluntary project in an NGO or an association
    • Ludic learning: play an active part in your studies with this new approach to education where learning is pure pleasure (e-learning, board games, Business Game)

    Year 2

    In Year 2, you can choose one of four different study tracks:

    Classic Track

    • Course details: you will strengthen your knowledge in the core course modules and carry out a 5-month internship to develop your business and/or financial skills.

    Association Management Track

    • Course details: you will get involved in one of the School’s associations by taking on a role of responsibility such as President, Treasurer, Head of Communications etc. In addition to your core courses, you will attend managerial lectures and seminars to train for your role. This track is preparation for the Entrepreneurship specialisation in Year 3.

    Double Degree Track with the University of La Rochelle

    • Unique in France and valued by companies, study for a Degree in management (with a Marketing option) at the IAE University School of Management La Rochelle. Available from Year 2, this double degree track will lead to 100% success in both qualifications!

    International Track

    • Course details: Internships are carried out abroad
    • Opportunity of academic expatriation in Year 2 and/or Year 3
    • Possibility of 2 successive expatriation periods in our partner universities
    • This track prepares students for the International Business specialisation in Year 3

    Year 3

    In Year 3, the focus is on selecting a specialisation and understanding company strategy.
    In the first semester, you will hone your job-specific skills to provide you with the necessary competencies for your professional project. The year finishes with a company-based internship.

    Specialisations in detail

    Banking and Insurance

    Advisors take responsibility for their clients, they analyse the client’s needs in terms of banking, insurance and peripheral services, and create customer loyalty. They fully understand risk management in daily life and proactively manage their portfolio.

    Entrepreneurship

    Entrepreneurs create a company or buy an existing business. They must understand the different legal, commercial, and financial forms of a company, know how to implement a business plan and know the various mechanisms of corporate taxation

    International Business

    International Business Managers carry out activities in all types of companies, in France or abroad, with a total command of the English or Spanish language. They develop sales and marketing techniques adapted to the specific context of the geocultural zone in which they operate.

    Commercial Management

    Sales Managers fully master sales and marketing techniques, know how to manage a budget and have excellent customer relations as well as advanced management and presentation skills. They are able to manage a portfolio of customers and brands, to highlight the value of their products and have outstanding negotiation skills. They are responsible for their team, and manage and monitor the turnover generated by their own and their team’s activity.

    Marketing and Customer Relationship Management

    Relationship Marketing Managers carry out projects that can stem from the initial contact with customers or from an ongoing loyal relationship with them. They are in charge of managing this relationship with customers. They have an excellent understanding of the latest CRM tools and the necessary marketing activities that will be beneficial to the company.

    Real Estate Management* - Double degree with ESPI School of Real Estate Professions

    Real Estate Advisors evaluate the potential of a real estate asset and define the relevant arguments supporting their decision, in line with the market. They coordinate the drafting of contracts and the administrative follow-up of transactions. Their work requires versatile skills in the areas of negotiation, accounting, administrative or legal management, and human relations.
    * Open to students enrolled from Year 1, this specialisation gives students the opportunity of obtaining qualifications from two Schools (Excelia Group and ESPI).

    Management and Human Resources

    Human Resources Managers are involved in ensuring the relevance and the optimisation of the company’s human resources to reflect company strategy. They perform a vital role in various fields: recruitment, redundancies, training plans etc. They must be totally open minded and have a great capacity for listening and negotiation.

    Web Marketing

    Web Marketing Project Managers have an excellent knowledge of online marketing tools to increase traffic and sales on a website. They develop the company’s digital strategy and are passionate about e-marketing, always on the lookout for the latest tools and techniques.

    Wine and Spirits

    Whether as manager of a business unit, a wine tourism manager, an export manager or someone responsible for communication and marketing, wine and spirits professionals develop a genuine understanding of the product from its marketing right through to its commercialisation for export, particularly pertinent for products in the luxury market.

    Digital Communications

    Digital Communications Manager is a new role within companies combining both sales skills and technical know-how. These managers are technically trained in new offline and online communication tools (image optimisation, logo creation, running a blog or a digital community, visual storytelling). They develop and manage sales initiatives in line with the company's digital communications strategy.

    Digital Transformation of Companies

    Digital Project and Digital Transformation Managers have dual competencies which enable them to combine their knowledge of IT tools (technology) with business management. These dual skills, which companies now expect, have necessitated the creation of an educational programme focussing on IT skills linked with business management, aimed at understanding company strategies and issues.

    Transport, Logistics and Digital

    Transport or Logistics Managers organise and manage transport operations and logistic services within local, regional, national, common and international markets. They are familiar with digital tools and know how to optimise operations as regards globalisation and sustainable development issues.

    Purchasing and Logistics

    Purchasing Managers are responsible for identifying suppliers and procuring products necessary for their company’s activity. They play a key role in both the industrial sector and the major retailing sector.

    Quality, Safety and Environment Management

    As veritable leaders in a company’s continuous improvement strategy, Quality, Safety and Environment Managers work with all employees across the company’s various internal departments (sales, production, purchasing) as well as those who are external to the company (customers, suppliers and stakeholders), in accordance with company policy and strategy. Pragmatic, dynamic and good communicators, QSE Managers are the guarantee of best practice in terms of quality, safety, sustainable development and the environment, and oversee the implementation of any new methods and organisation.


    Double-degree

    • Provided that students joined the programme at the start of Year 1, in Year 2 they can opt for a double-degree track with the IAE University School of Management La Rochelle which will culminate in them being awarded the Bachelor in Business as well as a Degree in Management from La Rochelle University.
    • The Real Estate Management specialisation enables students to be awarded both the Bachelor in Business and the GESAI (Gestionnaire d’Affaires Immobilières) Bachelor from the ESPI School of Real Estate Professions
    • The Digital Transformation of Companies specialisation culminates in a double-degree: the Bachelor in Business and the Bachelor from the EIGSI Engineering School La Rochelle.
    • The Digital Communications specialisation culminates in the awarding of the Bachelor in Business along with a ‘certificate of competence’ issued by La Rochelle Digital School.
    • The Purchasing and Logistics specialisation enables students to be awarded the Bachelor in Business with ISAAP (Higher Institute of Purchasing and Procurement)
    • The Quality, Safety and Environment Management specialisation allows students to receive the Bachelor in Business combined with a qualification from the IEQT (European Institute for Total Quality Poitou-Charentes)

    Professional experience

    Each year of study includes professional experience (company-based internships), carried out in France or abroad.
    By the end of your studies, you will have completed a minimum of 13 months’ company-based experience.
    Your end-of-studies internship (4-6 months) may be considered as a pre-employment internship.

    Work-study Track

    Your Bachelor in Business degree can be carried out on a work-study track.
    This track is available from Year 2 on the Angoulême campus and from Year 3 in La Rochelle.
    If you choose this option, you will need to secure an employment, apprenticeship or internship contract (such as a ‘contrat de professionnalisation’ or ‘contrat d’apprentissage’) with a company.

    Format: 1 week at School / 3 weeks in a company

    Depending upon the type of contract you have, the company might cover your tuition fees.
    Please note: only certain specialisations offer the possibility of a work-study track.

    International experience

    In Year 1, all students must carry out a Humacité© project or an internship.
    In Year 2, you can choose to join the International Track.
    In Year 2 or Year 3, you have the option of academic expatriation in one of our partner universities.
    In Year 3, you can choose the ‘International Business’ specialisation.

    Students interested in entrepreneurship can choose to join the Association Management Track in Year 2. Then in Year 3, they can choose the Entrepreneurship specialisation and study for a D2E entrepreneurship qualification with the University of La Rochelle.

    Student Clubs and Associations

    For the Bachelor in Business programme, being part of a club or an association is compulsory as it enables you to develop your managerial skills. This forms one of the programme’s modules and is evaluated at the end of the year. There is a choice of some 50 clubs and associations at Excelia Group that will put your skills into action… all within a secure and professional framework.

    Experiential and Personnal Development

     

    Throughout your studies, you will benefit from personalised support and guidance. The School offers workshops structured around personal development, communication tools (such as CVs and cover letters), understanding the job market, learning about different careers and developing your professional network.
    In addition to this, you will have a personal tutor who is there to help you with your choice of internship, study path and professional orientation.
    Furthermore, the School offers a system of mentoring, provided by Year 3 students, who are on hand to help you academically, if need be.

    APEL – Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (known as VAE in France)

    Through APEL, you can be awarded all or part of a degree through the recognition of your previous experience, whether or not this was in paid employment. Your skills and competencies are therefore acknowledged without you having to commit to a long study course.
