David Kalisz appointed Director of Excelia Business School’s Grande École Programme and MSc in Business Management

From 2 February 2026, David Kalisz takes up the role of Director of Excelia Business School’s Grande École Programme and MSc in Business Management. He previously served as Director of Graduate Studies and Associate Professor at Paris School of Business. A management academic and expert in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), he will bring his expertise to develop learning approaches at the intersection of strategy, technology and transformation.

A mission aligned with the “Business Education for our futureS” strategic direction

Taking up his post on 2 February as Head of these two flagship programmes at Excelia Business School, David Kalisz will be responsible for leading the Grande École Master’s programme and the School’s Masters of Science, in line with the strategic direction “Business Education for our futureS”.

He will draw on his experience in higher education, his technological expertise and his international perspective to support the evolution of teaching and the internationalisation of the Business School. He will support the development of Graduate programmes across all Excelia campuses (La Rochelle, Tours, Orléans, Paris).

The strategy he will define for the Graduate division will focus on:

  • Continuing the momentum of excellence at Excelia Business School, to strengthen the School’s position among the very top French business schools internationally.

  • Positioning the School as an innovative, high-impact leader in France and internationally, through a teaching model that prioritises the ecological and social transition, as well as the digital and geopolitical transformations that managers face.

  • Further developing the Business School through the rollout of the Grande École Programme in Paris, enhancing its pre-Master cycle across all campuses, and aligning the MSc portfolio with the needs of the School’s different regions, including internationally.

     

Operationally, David Kalisz will be responsible for:  

  • Making a significant contribution to accreditations (state accreditation and Master’s degree awarding authority, EQUIS, AACSB, AMBA, HCERES, etc.), with the support of the dedicated department, while highlighting the programmes’ alignment with environmental and social impact indicators.

  • Driving programme quality by rolling out relevant assessment indicators across all campuses. He will also help redesign international mobility in line with Excelia’s ecological transition and internationalisation objectives.

  • Continuously leading the adjustments required to ensure a pedagogical approach that takes into account the rise of AI and the integration of adaptive skills into programmes.

Finally, David Kalisz will actively contribute to promoting and developing the programmes and will oversee relations with students, with particular attention to satisfaction indicators.

 

An academic profile at the crossroads of megatrends, innovation and foresight

David Kalisz also joins Excelia Business School as an Associate Professor in the Strategy Department. He teaches the courses Megatrends and Understanding the Future, as well as modules dedicated to analysing the long-term impact of innovation on industries, organisations and society.

His research focuses on Future Studies, strategic foresight and scenario planning, with a particular interest in supporting organisations in the face of uncertainty, complexity and long-term transformations.

David Kalisz is a Guest Editor for several peer-reviewed international academic journals, including Technological Forecasting & Social Change and Information Technology & People.

David Kalisz holds a PhD in Economics (Management Sciences) from the Warsaw School of Economics, Warsaw, Poland. He is a Certified Foresight Practitioner (IFTF, Palo Alto, USA) and a member of the Association of Professional Futurists as well as the International Institute of Forecasters. Since 2022, he has been undertaking the Advanced Executive Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, USA).
