Nathalie Hector appointed head of Excelia Business School

 

Nathalie Hector has been appointed Director and Dean of Excelia Business School, effective 1 September 2026. With over 20 years’ experience in higher education and leading French business schools, she will support a new stage in the School’s development, focusing on educational transformation, the hybridisation of skills and the student experience.

She will succeed Tamym Abdessemed, HDR-qualified Professor of Strategy, who will resume his academic and faculty activities from the start of the new academic year, while also taking on a Senior Advisor role with the Executive Management team.

A mission focused on educational transformation and internationalisation

As head of Excelia Business School, Nathalie Hector will be responsible for supporting the roll-out of the School’s strategy by applying her expertise to educational transformation, innovation and the internationalisation of programmes. Her career at several leading French management schools has seen her lead programme transformations, develop innovative learning initiatives and enhance the learner experience in close alignment with the needs of students, companies and local regions.

Nathalie Hector’s priorities as head of the School

Nathalie Hector will focus on:

  • Maintaining the School’s academic excellence by consolidating programme quality, the learner experience and the standards associated with national and international accreditations.
  • Continuing to develop innovative learning models.
  • Strengthening the hybridisation of skills within the Group’s multidisciplinary environment.
  • Enhancing the School’s academic reputation and visibility by promoting its educational model and its commitments to sustainability and transformation issues.

Over 20 years’ experience in higher education management

Nathalie Hector’s career has been shaped by her work at three leading French management schools. After holding several programme director roles at KEDGE Business School, she became Director of the Grande École Programme at emlyon business school before joining SKEMA Business School, where she became a member of the Executive Committee and Director of Innovation and Learner Experience. She holds a PhD in Management Sciences, teaches strategy and entrepreneurship, and contributes to the work of the CDEFM and the Conférence des Grandes Écoles.

Academic background

Nathalie Hector holds a PhD in Management Sciences and a DEA postgraduate research diploma in public and private litigation law from the University of South Toulon-Var.
