Biography

Dr Poonam Oberoi has been Assistant Professor of Marketing at Excelia Business School since 2014. She joined the Group after successfully defending her thesis at Grenoble Ecole de Management the same year.
On the research front, Dr. Oberoi’s primary focus is in the area of innovation and technology management. Her work examines the technology and innovation sourcing decisions that firms make, and the consequences of these decisions. Since her appointment as an Assistant Professor at Excelia Business School in 2014, she has published research papers on these topics in well-regarded, peer reviewed, international journals such as M@n@gement and Journal of Business Research. More recently, she has also embarked on an exciting and important research program on gender equality and leadership. She has published one paper on this topic, also in Organization which is a well-regarded, peer reviewed international journal.

Furthermore, Dr. Oberoi has published four book chapters and five case studies on related topics. She is active on the conference circuit, and she has presented at leading conferences such as the AMA Winter Academic Conference, the Academy of Marketing Science conference, and the Strategic Management Society annual conference, among several others. Importantly, she has an active research pipeline, with several papers in development and one under review.

On the teaching front, Dr. Oberoi has taught a large and diverse set of courses and students. She has taught five separate modules, including one that she launched at Excelia on innovation marketing (a topic that relates closely to her research and one in which she has expertise). She has taught at different levels of the BBA, MGE, and MSc programs at the School.
