Biography

Professor at Excelia Business School, which she joined in 2010, Valérie Fernandes has been Dean of the Faculty since 2013. She obtained her Doctorate in Management Science in 2004 at the University of Corsica, under the supervision of Prof. Orsoni, for which she specialised in Supply Chain Control Methods studying the company EUROCOPTER. Some 11 years later, she successfully passed her HDR at the University of Evry-Val d'Essonne, under the supervision of Prof. Chantal Ammi, this time focussing on Industrial Performance and Sustainable Supply Chain Management (HDR - Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches: qualification authorising research-active Faculty to advise doctoral students or oversee research). Her current research topics focus on the Circular Economy as well as Industrial and Regional Approaches to Ecology.
She heads up Excelia Lab', the Group’s laboratory of pedagogical innovations, and is part of MACCA, the national research group in pedagogy and management education.

Valérie Fernandes has been Vice Chairman of the Development Council of La Rochelle’s Atlantic Port since 2014 (of which she has been a member since 2012), and a member of the MER (Matière Energie Rochelaise) committee since 2016.
