After beginning her career in IT in the insurance sector, Katia Barbier-Puente moved to the United States, working as a trilingual translator for the multinational KOHLER (based in Wisconsin). Following this, she decided to resume her studies in France and, in 2001, she obtained a Master degree in Foreign Languages, Literature and Civilisations from the University of Nancy. She then worked for ATTICA, the major language specialist bookstore in Paris, where she became Store Manager.
With her three areas of expertise: pedagogy, languages and computer science, Katia Barbier-Puente joined the world of higher education in 2009, as Director of Studies at the University of Marne La Vallée. A native of La Rochelle, she joined Excelia Business School in 2011, where she held the position of Director of Studies for the Bachelor in Business programme for almost 10 years, whilst also teaching English language courses, in particular preparation for the TOEIC exam. Since 2019, she has been Director of Studies for the Excelia's BBA International programme and is the School’s point of contact for the Stade Rochelais.
In addition to her professional career, Katia Barbier-Puente is interested in singing and dancing, and has been actively involved in community life for many years, in particular as a member of an association working to support women.
